What we tile in bathrooms

  • Bathroom and ensuite walls, full height or to a set height
  • Floors, including tiling to the falls already formed for drainage
  • Shower recess walls and floors
  • Niches and shelves
  • Feature walls in finger, mosaic, large-format or natural-stone tiles
  • Powder rooms and laundries

What matters in a tiled bathroom

Set-out. Planning where full tiles and cuts land, around the vanity, niche, shower screen and tapware, before fixing.

Falls and levels. Floor tiles follow the falls to the waste so water drains, and wall courses stay level.

The right adhesive and grout for the tile, the substrate and a wet area.

Clean junctions at corners, edges and penetrations, with movement joints where they belong.

Before tiling starts

In a wet area, the membrane that seals the floor and walls must be installed and certified by an appropriately licensed contractor before any tiles go down. CoreStone does not offer or quote that part of the work; we tile once it is done. If you are organising a full bathroom upgrade, a builder or licensed contractor will usually coordinate those stages.

Bathroom tiling questions

Can you tile my bathroom if the room is already prepared?

Yes. Where the walls, floor and wet-area membrane are complete and certified by the appropriate contractor, we can quote the tiling. Send photos and the tiles you have chosen.

Do you install the wet-area membrane as well?

No. CoreStone does not currently offer or quote membrane work. In a wet area the membrane must be installed and certified by an appropriately licensed contractor before tiling starts, and we will ask to see that it has been done.

Can you tile a feature wall or niche?

Yes. Feature walls, niches and shower walls are common bathroom requests. Large-format, finger, mosaic and natural-stone tiles all need careful set-out, which we plan before fixing.

How long does bathroom tiling take?

It depends on the size of the room, the tile format, the amount of cutting and curing times for adhesive and grout. We give you a realistic timeframe with the written quote.
